The day we arrived, we knew we wanted the kids to see the sea lions coming in at sunset. We saw it last time at the caves in La Jolla, which is a 20 minute drive and a spectacular view of the coast the whole way. The town is beautiful. The kids asked if they could play at a park when we got there, and I said, "Sure, if we find one," thinking we'd never run into one. Somehow, though, our GPS ended us DIRECTLY next to a playground! They were thrilled.
As the sun started setting, we could hear the sea lions barking, so we headed to the beach.
There were lots of tide pools with the coolest creatures in them. There are a couple of little crabs in this picture
Look at those lazy guys. They're so cute.
