By the grace of God, 2010 was a great year for me and my family. I say that because for so many of my very close friends, 2010 brought a lot of bad things. I am glad it is over for their sake in hopes that they will all have a much happier and brighter 2011.
Looking back on the year, the highlights for me were the fact that Jack and Alice have become "kids" now, so they play together and we can do fun things as a family. Don't get me wrong, babies are wonderful and adorable, but they limit the fun-factor on so many levels.
I also got back into working out--Finally! A teacher at our school found a trainer who comes to
us and brings all the equipment we need. He did a combination of boot camp, pilates, resistance training, boxing, weight training, and cardio. It was awesome, but it was short-lived because we lost our workout space. We are working on finding a new spot and hope to get him back soon.
I got to travel to several places this year. Some with the kids (Florida)
and some without (San Diego, Las Vegas).

A perfect combination, I'd say.
I found my faith again this year, thanks to Jack's enrollment at a wonderful Catholic school and my commitment to going to church more. I am so happy to be hearing Jack talk about all that he's learning, and to be able to share the traditions of our faith with the family. It's really comforting for me.
I took classes to learn more about photography. And I'm getting really excited about it. The other day I went to see my friend's newborn baby and got carried away, pretending I was a real photographer. I had a lot of fun doing it.
I even attempted to learn how to use Photoshop. Not so easy, but I'm learning.
Over the last year, I've gotten lost in Blog-land, and I can't stop reading what so many amazing moms do. This one, this one, and this one are just a few of the women I'm talking about. They are so darn creative and fun and I am just more and more inspired by them everyday. Most of them, I realize, don't work other than the huge job of being a mother, but I still like to keep hoping that maybe one day I'll be more like them. :)
My goals for 2011? I'm not really sure yet. Jamie and I have decided to have family game night once a week. So far, I wasn't home the first night we were doing it-Some commitment!- but they did it without me anyway and had fun. We'll keep it up. I'm also hoping to complete some scrapbooking and photo/video organization this year. I am so behind on this and have such ambition to do these things-It's just that the lack of time, space, and energy have been preventing me from accomplishing these goals. I want to get crafty again. I'm attempting to do more organized crafts and activities with Jack and Alice, but I also want to make more things. Like people on www.etsy.com do. =) High hopes, I tell you. High hopes.
I'm happy to say that most of what I set out to do last year, I did...Except SELL OUR HOUSE. Damn housing market.
What would be the most important thing on my list would be health and happiness for my family and friends in 2011.
From all of us in our little O'Hearn House,
Happy New Year!
